honestly, it hurt my feelings and made me wanting to say mean things about the OP.

The WTF is only one of many organizations. Olympic Taekwondo is strictly sparring. They don't even have the divisions my kid competes in. Are you familiar with boxing? There are multiple sanctioning bodies. Same with Taekwondo.

Well, I guess that's true, and they were actually made of metal,, but, that was in the 60's when we could buy one from a hippy. It might say Peace, or Flower Power on it,, but a good sloshin' of olive green paint, a set of turned in tractor tires and a boat rack on top,,, twas' a dayum thing of beauty.

You keep comparing it to boxing but most everyone agrees that the way boxing awards "world championships" is a joke.

Then virtually no sport has a legit world championship. Are Canadian league teams allowed to participate in the Super Bowl? If there any sport with only 1 sanctioning body. If the largest isn't legit, then there is no legit sport anywhere.

In fact, I moved specifically into my school district so my kid could attend this public school. And it recently placed top 5 in National Merit Finalists in La. - beating schools like Brother Martin, Holy Cross, etc. I'll take that trade-off with a smile on my face.

Your kid is probably an unsocial nerd so a mustang won't help his social status. This type of stuff happened all the time when I was in high school, some kungfu nerd comes back after Christmas or summer break with a mustang and no one gives a frick, they usually just get used for rides. He'll have fun with it though.
