Not to sure. I haven't kept up with much outside of our row of houses across from Oaks on the Bluff. I was making regular trips down that way to check out water flow but haven't been in three days. If I'm thinking of the correct house, I'd guess they are good. Hard to imagine it getting that high.

What's the deal with oak alley first entrance dry as a bone and the second full of water?

We just lost electricity on the north side of Alligator Bayou Rd., Entergy trucks on Old Perkins Rd

Damnit.
If we loose power on the ridge at this point it will be tragic.

The top of the bluff hasn't flooded since 1927

Power back on, was only out for a little over a hour

Define top of the Bluff. Homes on the high side? That's got to be before MS Levy was put in.

The top of the high side.
I'm pretty sure that was the old bank from when the river swole and flooded every spring before the levee. Same for Highland road.
The Miss River levee broke in 1927 and there were several feet of water on the top of the bluff.

Always suspected that. Hard to imagine that much water on top of the bluff. Granted we aren't that far from the MS river.

You have Demco or Entergy?

This is correct there was 2' of water in the old house on EP Braud's property on the Bluff right across from Harry Braud's property.
So it would take a hell of a lot of water to flood anything on the buff side of Bluff Rd.

Well I have no idea who you are, but I definitely know you if you know those names.
Posted on 8/19/16 at 6:57 am to DownshiftAndFloorIt
Born and raised in Dutchtown and my mom was a Braud.

Where's this? C Braud? Just out of curiosity. I love the area and still learning about it's history. Group up in Galvez but this will be home for many years as we raise our kids here.

Between ridge road and the new school, closer to ridge road.

Thanks. Extremely hard to imagine that much water. That's my rooftop. No watching and waiting there. Lol
Posted on 8/19/16 at 7:06 am to lsujunky
Well, that narrows it down to half of my family

How did the water level on ridge do overnight?
