Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good. That honor, courage and virtue mean everything; that power and money . . . money and power mean nothing. That good always triumphs over evil. And I want you to remember this, that love — true love never dies. Remember that boy . . . remember that. Doesn’t matter if it is true or not, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.

No. I don't believe in myths from the Bronze Age.

that doesn't change the inherent truth man bastardizing something doesn't change the truth of it it might change interpretations, the expressions. the practice. but not the truth scientific truth is constantly changing

I’m a bit surprised that you typed that out without seeing how that could describe either, or both.

Science is a framework that produces evidence and the goal is to generate more evidence that can be used to update conclusions if warranted.

It's also important to remember that scientists speak in probabilities, not absolutes, so there's always going to be a disconnect when scientific evidence is used for political policies that require absolutes.

It's a shame that Bayesian probability isn't taught in high school, or to college freshman in a simplified way. A useful skill to have, and makes for a great bullshite detector.

In your belief views, you leave no room for faith

Oh really? There's this thing called reading, you might want to try it sometime...

quote:

And when the forbidden months have passed, kill the idolaters wherever you find them and take them prisoners, and beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush
