I was there in 94 and it seemed like a much bigger portion of the student body. Hell, I left after 1 semester because I didn't like being in a fraternity.

agreed. this is a very sad story, and sounds like it may not have happened like this anyhow. who knows. i know its a horrible story
on the uber note, i understand... i guess. especially when uber/lyft was semi new, however, we've all heard stories of this sort of shite. at some point, especially in our society as it is, folks have to start looking out for themselves just a little bit. maybe I'm just more cautious bc i don't "city" as much as a lot of folks. i dunno.

It feels bigger than it is. I think it was 50% in your era, but I agree it can feel like 90% freshman year because so many people are focused on rush/pledgeship and it takes all of their time.
Subsequent years you find all sorts of people though. I lived with guys in different fraternities and guys in no fraternities throughout college. I would always include non-greek buddies in our parties and stuff too.
