I will just say this.
What they did was stupid and they should get punishment that fits whatever crime was committed and whatever violation of student conduct calls for at Ole Miss. Nothing more or less.
I know Ben and I know how tough losing his dad was for him and lots of other stuff that I will not mention on this board.
He is a good kid that did something bad at age 19 or 20. Nobody got hurt, except for some feelings.
So for those calling for his life to basically be thrown away need to step back and reflect on yourself.

As an Ole Miss alum, I think they should absolutely be told they cannot return next semester. It is the Summer, maybe they can just say they won't expel them if they agree to transfer out so their records do not reflect an expulsion. If they're in Summer school, figure out a way to drop the course(s) they're in or finish out remotely.

Universities have conduct policies in place and Ole Miss, especially right now, needs to distance themselves from shite like this.
Again, I would rather them work out some kind of transfer instead of having an expulsion on their record. But as an alum, I definitely don't think they should be back at school in Oxford. At least not in the Fall semester.
