First time I went in there one of the old farts cut my hair. He didn't even use scissors, just did a buzzcut. Looked like crap.

I hope most of them still frequent the fine establishment. They actually have a couple of women working there which I thought I would never see.

I use to go to the Golden Shears on Magazine..It was nicknamed the Golden Lawnmower..
My Mother lived in the ninth ward as a child. She came down with rheumatic fever. The doctor suggested they move to the country to get fresh air..They moved to Codifer and Bonnabel. This was probably in the early 30's. She still had the house till probably the mid 70's. I would give anything to have that house today.

They have a picture of Neil Armstrong standing next to a Confederate flag on the moon.

This is where I go. The young guy named Natchez does a great job, avoid the old man that works there though.

When I was younger my Dad would take to a Barber on Freret st next to Frank's Steak house. His name was Mr. Soprano..My Dad said the guy had to be connected.. The only thing I didn't like about My Soprano was that he had a twitch..I was always afraid he was going to give me a bald spot..

I really liked that place. As old school as a man can dream.

One just sold for $720,000 so they aren’t that dumb. I wouldn’t have built there, but I’m sure they made a nice profit. Now, the person who paid that is definitely dumb.

Old Metairie and New Orleans East... dude you couldn't be any further from the truth. New Orleans East is NOTHING like Old Metairie. Some parts of Old Jefferson, now, well, I can't speak for that.
Having lived in New Orleans East and Old Metairie I can totally say that you better check your resume.

Maybe so. I just know they were originally listed for $900K or so and have been sitting on the market for what I think is at least four months.
Maybe they got a great deal on the original big lot and made it worth it.
