It was a straight away that apparently people liked to race on and I was a dumbass teenager and a mustang flew by me and I revved my engine half joking and lost my driver's license because of it.

I've hit 147 in a vette. It was scary but not terrifying.
In my new company digs (2016 WRX), I regularly hit 120mph easily on the Hardy when traffic is thin thin, and it has plenty more push left in it......I chicken out at the thought of jail time.

I'm calling bullshite all the way from the poepoe!!! Having built and driven plenty of cars capable of that there is no way a 19yo could sustain those speeds, much less a cop be able to get multiple "radar" hits to confirm that.
At 200mph you are covering 300ft(football field) a second. No cop car ever built could have run him down. No matter though... Busted at a red light would only be hearsay no matter what. If the baw can afford a mustang that can go 200+, he can afford an attorney good enough to get him off.

I had a campus cop during undergrad tell me that he "heard" me speeding when I was coming back onto campus one night. I had a sweet modded 00 SS Camaro that would max out to 167 mph even with a 4.10 Moser 12-bolt rear end that sounded awesome. Back to the campus cop. This was the kind of guy that real cops would talk shite to. When he told me he "heard" me speeding I laughed at him, revved it up to about 4k rpms and yelled for him to tell me how fast it sounded like I was going. His own sergeant laughed at him.

I can't even imagine what that speed feels like.
I bought an Eagle Talon out of college back in the mid 90's and decided to open it up on one occasion. At 115 I felt like I was about to come off the road and take off like a plane. Backed off and decided I was never doing that again. Wasn't for me.
