Sounds like a liberal wonderland. Steal assets and funds from citizens and give it to the govt.

Oklahoma is the quintessential liberal wonderland.

Usually they just steal from po folk carrying a lot of cash. I mean, they're black or Mexican so they probably stole it anyway, right? (Sarcasm).
Louisiana made a special practice out of it on I-10.
Just get some inbred halfwit with a poorly trained dog that "alerts" on command and hell, you've got a license to steal.

Civil forfeiture should be low hanging fruit for a presidential candidate
Rand Paul has spoken out against it. It totally violates the fourth amendment of unlawful search and seizure. I don't understand why the victims can't sue the shite out of police departments who do this.

FIFY

Look we don't know how many lives have been saved by civil forfeiture practices, but we can all agree that it's easily in the thousands. Could civil forfeiture laws have prevented 9/11 or even Pearl Harbor? We'll never know for sure but most historians agree that they could have.

These laws are here for our protection and we should be grateful for the freedom they produce.

It costs a ton of money to sue. Most of the victims are poor, so how are they gonna spend $10K to get $5K back?

The cops know this, too.

Plus, it's the old "we'll drop the charges".
Nice, since they are usually made up anyway.

This is just God's Will. It's not the prosecutors fault and should be accepted by all Americans who believe in a higher power.

And to think there are some in here who question why prosecutors almost never prosecute police.

If the police hadn't played their role, these guys couldn't have gotten their state sponsored house or loan forgiveness programs.

Is anyone surprised then that both parties are fighting tooth and nail to keep these practices up?

This hits on part of the story. Google Meraux Foundation and you'll be provided plenty of reading material.

Please don't get me started on civil forfeitures. That and eminent domain. My blood pressure is about to skyrocket.

eminent domain

Has a legitimate purpose but should only be used in moderation for scenarios that truly warrant it like traffic infrastructure, getting the poors, hood rats and white trash away from a nice area in order to attract economic development and improving the quality of life overall.

Which its practice is highly debatable today. That's my point.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. When people get in power like this, they think they can do whatever they want. Most of the time they can.
