So.. I have an Group IV 100% synthetic oil that has sat on my shelf for about 18 months. For those in the know, what is the approximate shelf life for this type of oil?

ETA: for clarification, it would be used in a motorcycle... as in high rpm.

If it hasn't been opened and it was stored in a garage or something I would use it.

If not, ditch it, not worth ruining an engine over shite oil

Pour one or two cap-fulls on your driveway. If it separates, it's no good. If it stays together, you're good to use it

Shake the bottles before dumping them in and make sure to get the bike up to complete operating temp after the oil change.

I have a supply of old school mogul that is 10+ years old. Blackstone tests show zero difference in wear metals between it and the new identical oil.
