Oil and Gas Additives?

I took my car in for routine 25,000 mile servicing to the dealer and the technician tried to sell me oil and gas additives. I thought those things were discredited years ago. Anybody use these, and if so, do they really enhance performance or reduce engine wear?

You didn't get them? Congrats on the the new engine.

Marvel's Mystery Oil is all you need

Only two products i would pour into my gas tank. And seafoam can be ran in your oil for about 50 miles immediately before changing your oil if you want to break down carbon deposits in the crankcase.
Techron is some damn good stuff.

I've used Gummout a few times. Does it work? doubtful.
But the CLM oil treatment may work.

What are the results? And how do you show the same results wouldn't have happened without the additives. (exclude boats, or weed eaters, or anything that would sit for months with ethanol). Cars are driven daily.

Marine Stabil is to keep ethanol fuel from phase separating.

correct, once i started using seafoam years ago i stopped using the techron because the seafoam does a great job at keeping it clean. Now if you have a chevron or texaco you fill up at you dont really need to add techron to your fuel and they say do not use techron more then twice in a 3K mile period

The results are i dont have probs with corn gas wrecking my equipment,i'm not one that only searches for non corn fuel, in my biz i cant so i fill up when needed and using these 2 products has allowed me to keep my equipment running great.

I use 3M, Gumout, or Amsoil in my fuel system every fifth tank (275gal), and I use Shell 93. Use either Amsoil Engine Flush or AutoRx very sporadically typically with Quaker State Ultimate Durability.
Quality oil, proper OCIs, and quality fuel will prevent most of the gumming up or carbon build-up problems you'll ever see
