Maybe I've studied Scientology more than the average person. At the very top of the hierarchy is this cat named David Miscavige. He and Cruise are best buds. Miscavige is a couple of years older. Whether or not he's a true believer or just an opportunist remains to be seen (I suspect the latter), but regardless, he's about 5'4" and is reportedly a huge bully.
It was neck and neck for who was the biggest celebrity "get" for Scientology. Travolta was there very early for them in that big celebrity push of the 1970s (while Hubbard was still alive). And was their first "big" star. But, Cruise was having a better and more consistent overall career. Travolta had his comeback in the 1990s. But the failure for that awful Battlefield Earth (2000) film was put strictly on him by Miscavige and it has been all Cruise since.
Scientology was even selecting/grooming women to be Cruise's next GF/spouse ever since Kidman (because that was the closest they came to losing him). I'm not sure that is the case with de Armas (Cuban, raised Catholic, but the religion for virtually all these folks is "Hollywood" and Scientology fits right in.
I agree that Travolta isn't even pretending anymore, but he is not nearly as high profile as Cruise. Cruise is going to have to maintain an outward presentation of heterosexuality to save face and keep Miscavige from bullying him.

I forget who said it but i was watching a comedian recently who said ‘$cientology isnt any crazier than any other religion- it’s just NEWER’… that’s exactly how i feel about $cientology, yeah it’s pretty out far out there but i grew up catlick and i was taught that some guy turned water into wine, and that another guy was literally able to “part the sea”.. yet i know many people who dont even question that .

Cruise is shorter than 5 4”
Met him in New Orleans when they were filming Jack Reacher
He was staying at the hotel on top of the mall in New Orleans on the same floor as us

To me this is no different than the ‘Cruise is gay’ claim.. people seem to always be obsessed with his height, i think it’s because he is ultra successful and rich .
I know that Michael J Fox is 5’4” in real life, i seriously doubt that Cruise is as short (or shorter) than MJ Fox.. then again, ive never met either one so i guess ill have to take ur word for it .

Not sure if he's 5'4" but he's tiny, that's for sure. I'm 6'3" and I towered over him. Mark Wahlberg was pretty short, too. Will Farrell was my height. A lot of the pro wrestlers I've met were way shorter than I expected.

Ive been next to Schwarzenegger a couple times and was surprised how , not really short- but how ‘not tall’ he is, like maybe 5’10” or 5’11’.. since we all grew up seeing him in these movies that made him look massive…. tbh out of celebrities ive met they almost all seem like midgets, and im 6’2” so it’s not like im some hulking giant.. the only two celebrities ive met who were taller than expected were Craig Kilborn (used to host an old late night show on CBS like 20 yrs ago) and Vince Vaughn.. Vaughn towered over me, has to be 6’6” or 6’7”, im convinced he underestimates his own height .
