I have the 4.0 V6 Tacoma with about 125k miles on her. Hopefully Toyota will bring the V6 back for the Tacos.

My 2015 1794 has 160k I will keep it
Before that my tundra was 10 years old with 200k and was running great when sold it.

Not sure what will do when want another , maybe get a used 2021 V8 which I believe was last year to have V8
I don’t need the power and or need the 4x4 very often but the reliability is what matters.

So I have 80k on my ‘23 tundra and they are gonna give me a brand new engine? My vin matches the new range.

Bitch the article is referencing the Tundra, not the all new Tacoma. The Toyota bros aren't ever gonna shite you - YOU are our favorite turd.

I have a 2019 with less than 40k miles. I will keep it until it goes to the scrap yard, just like my 05 Z71 with 215k that I still drive from time to time.

2021 Tacoma with 140,000 miles. Still going strong. I’ve had 4 Toyotas, with a total of over 600,000 miles. The only major repair, an A/C compressor, cost me $525. For repairs, I’ll take that every time.

Buy a pre 2022 Tundra. The 5.7 is one of the best engines ever made.

Why does such a well respected brand have such shitty QA/QC? Seems to not fit with the whole "best thing ever" idea that the cult has.

It happens to every brand. The difference is in how you handle the issue. Toyota is giving everyone a brand new engine regardless of whether you have any issues. My truck ran like a top for 66k. I just recently got a new engine at no charge.

The take away from this is that they are recalling...unlike Ford with their known cam phaser issues for years costing owners thousands...

Guess where my Expedition is?

Probably.

I had one of the impacted vin in previous recall. I recently had an entirely new engine put in. Took 3 days and they provided me a loaner as well. It was like getting 66k miles on the house!

Pushing 310k here, probably closer to 335k since I’ve run 33’s on her for about 200k.

What was this like? I need to probably start the process. I have 80k on mine, it’s a beast but I’m not going to turn down a new engine.

They will contact you.

I wouldn’t rush it. The longer you can delay the more “free miles” you can get. I probably should have drug my feet a little longer but I didn’t want to be greedy .

So you're saying I should keep my 5.7?

The wife took the car to get an oil change at my friends place, the guy forgot to put the oil pan plug in. Got a new motor. Had less that 30,000 miles.

A naturally aspirated V8 will always be more reliable than a turbo charged V6. The quicker that Lee Zeldin can end the goverment emissions laws and let Ford, GM, Dodge, and even Toyota resume making V8's the quicker the auto industry can start healing.
