Still don't think you'd be able to see a plane at 240 miles on a clear night. The Stars and moon are huge objects

I don't see why not. That's why I asked about the curvature of the earth on the previous page.

At this point of this it wouldn't surprise me if the oil rig guy was the pilot of the plane!

35,000 ft should be able to overcome the curvature.
Think I remember hearing that the human eye can see the light of a candle from a mile away. No clue on the source.

Oil rig guy is clearly an alien disseminating disinformation.

I think if it exploded at that altitude you could see it

I think it's a current commercial about eyes

How high was the Challenger when it blew up? They have video so I know you could see it with human eye.
Posted on 3/12/14 at 6:35 pm to au21tigers
Plane probably landed on oil rig. Passengers are spear fishing.

I'm sure if you were in the right spot, even hundreds of miles away, you could Dee a plane explode and fall from the sky.
If you knew what to look for and be looking in that one tiny spot on the horizon at the exact moment.

Not sure.
Also we are relying on the last transponder position...maybe it blew up 10-20 min after?
Idk they all seem to be saying they don't think it's the plane.

If this plane isn't found will it rank up with the JFK conspiracy?

I think it would be worse.

Another reference is being able to see oil rigs off the coast. I'm sure someone has references to distances out to the Mars Field and whether it can be seen from shore.
Think it's around 150miles

According to that you can see 238.9 miles if the object is 38000 feet

I think I remember people saying they could see the deep water horizon explosion/fire from just south of NOLA

Chinese sat image with superimposed plane for reference.
Hmmmmmmmmmm. I was leaning toward sat images are nothing to maybe they are on to something. Plus I don't think the Chinese would release these without a high degree of certainty.
