Just received notification from the CIF (the board that governs high school sports in California), that all fall sports in the upcoming school year have been canceled because of Covid-19. If California Covid case numbers go down and stabilize, the CIF will revisit restarting fall sports in January, meaning that football, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, track, and soccer will all be played at the same time and competing for many of the same athletes.

Saw a aTm commit is going to graduate early and skip his senior season.

How many 4 and 5 star prospects transfer out of CA to get a senior year in (looking at Korey Foreman in particular)?

Floyd Dawg, I don't know how many athletes are going to transfer out of state for their senior year. This decision just came down within the last couple of hours, so it's too early to tell. I think the bigger question will be if Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Arizona will follow California and how many states in the Midwest and East also do the same. How many 3/4/5 star recruits from those states are going to have to find out of state school districts to enroll in, physically move, and be eligible to be on the practice field in the next week. Here in the North SF Bay Area where I coach, we were going to start official practices a week from today.

Cali is the first to bend the knee.

The dominoes are about to start falling across the country.

They are going to revisit it in December. The December restart is not official. One of the main issues is that if students are not physically attending classes at the campus, they can not field teams. It's already been decided that classes will be taught remotely at least until Christmas break is over (the first semester). Until they determine if classes are to physically resume on campus for the second semester, we're on hold. Also just received the revised CIF sports championship calendar. If all goes as planned, and schools are reopened to students, Football section playoffs must be completed by April 10th.

Sadly by the time this is all over, there won't be anywhere to transfer to play this fall.
