My female black lab died a week ago Wednesday. She was 13 years, 4 months at death. She hated any loud noise from guns, lightening and fireworks. Told my wife that's why she passed before New Years. Damn good dog.

My dog started the past couple of years a mild case. So last night I took him out on lead to where my neighbor was launching everything and the dog went wild. Jumping and barking and wanting to chase the pyros. He actually enjoyed it. Weird

Same thing here.. I live in the middle of firework central and the last couple of years he has stayed real close to me. I guess it has something to do with age.. My guy is around the same age as yours.

My dog instantly wants to murder somebody as soon as he hears a tire hit a single limestone in the driveway, so I figured he would freak out last night. They were popping some big arse fireworks right behind us. He would pop up for the first few and be curious, but when it was time for bed he knocked right out.

My Jack Russell mix is the same. He absolutely loves fireworks. He has a goofy smile and wagging tail begging to let him outside. Once outside, he will run back and forth "chasing" fireworks in the sky. I usually walk him without a leash but I have to put him in a full harness during firework season. I cant have him around people lighting them because he will go after the lit fuse. Ive had several instances where he took off with lit bottle rocket and roman candle.

This is literally what happens and everyone scatters:

My dog is unphased by fireworks.

On a different note, this dog loves rain, and mud. She will roll and frolick in mud for hours on end.

However, when it's time to shite, that's a deal breaker. Damn dog simply won't shite in wet grass. Strange.
