That's in Avalon though. Not a terrible neighborhood. I wonder if it was domestic?

What do we call it?
I have not been out by Millerville in 5 years. I hear it regresses by the hour. One of my buds bought a house back there but the Target right after Katrina and it was a great neighborhood for young couples and families.

Ouch. This one is painful. No young person should lose his life this way and especially Christmas Eve:
BATON ROUGE -- A fatal shooting off Millerville Road has taken the life of a 17-year-old and left his younger brother injured.
The incident occurred in a home on Turret Drive, just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24.
Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office (EBRSO) have confirmed that two brothers, the aforementioned 17-year-old and his ten-year-old brother, were in the home at the time of the shooting. The 17-year-old was hit by gunfire and passed away as a result of his injuries.
His ten-year-old brother was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooter remains at large and deputies say additional details related to the incident will be provided as they proceed with their investigation.

My social media detection skills tell me mother was loving, but also newly married and likely let kids do their thing. The departed looks to be a senior or near it at Capitol High. This is either drug or beef related. Some knucklehead shitbirds were still up at 5 am and likely opened fire into his home.

It's not been very 'nice' since the 90s. It was similar to my hood, Village St George in that most people are decent but every street had a couple kids you knew were bad apples.

It happens in a lot of older neighborhoods. My childhood neighborhood in Central that we lived in until I was HS isn't great anymore.

Yep. I stalked. His mom is Shay London. Dad Greg Taplin. His brother Greg Jr played at Capitol.
His dad is out on bond for attempted murder in July. This was no way no how random.

That whole area flooded. It's probably even worse now than it was just 3 years ago.
