Temp drops to 25° Thurs night with a 70% chance of rain. Back in the deep freeze Fri with a high of 31° and low of 7°. Saturday is forecast to be 22°/8°.
Forecast here dropped to 9 for tonight.
That's the lowest I've seen predicted yet, and will be lower than December 22's low of 11 (at my house).
Saturdays Forecast is to start at 14 and climb to 33
Era: here is Birmingham area

MAJOR issues on I-65 between Cullman and Birmingham. Especially northbound. Miles and miles of completely stopped vehicles with military vehicles scattered about. Hilly area with plenty of shade is causing BIG issues.

Lacon "Mountain" has done fricked em again. Not a surprise at all. Some of those dummies should have damn well known better.

Gotta beat 2° to beat that cold snap for me.

Thanks, I set up a space heater and opened a couple faucets.
Actual blockage was outside in an unprotected pipe, used the temp gun on it and it was 19 degrees even though the outside temp is 33 right now. Used a blowdryer on it for about 5-10 minutes and house has water again. Running to Lowe's to get some wrap for it.

Now one of my rental buildings has some frozen pipes. I had sinks dripping and heat on but I bought it a year and a half ago and there is some pipe where the water goes into the back of the unit that I didn't know about from previous owner that is somewhat insulated but apparently not insulated enough

How's the flu, though?

The area between Cullman and Lacon on I65 is a death trap even during the best of weather. Can't imagine how bad it is right now.

Yep, it is a notorious stretch through there. They started backing up as soon as the mess started Sunday. I feel for them.

Idk......kids and wife are much, much better.....I may be a little better but not much. Did wake up this morning without a fever though so that's a benchmark, still felt like crap but no fever. I was the last to get it so makes sense for me to be the last to get rid of it. Here's hoping I'm on the downhill side. Gonna be plenty of work to do whenever everything finally thaws

If the fever broke that’s a biggie. Acetaminophen is a savior as far as flu goes and thank God for it. So bad for the liver, but seems as if everything is a trade off for relief.
Hang in there.

It was a notorious speed trap after Bama games.
Four exits through there. Seen cops of every kind lined on the entrance ramps, picking folks off like flies. State cops, county cops, and city cops all.

I see that schools are closing around the Baton Rouge area for tomorrow, I’m not seeing however that the traveling should be as bad as it was today.
There shouldn’t additional moisture on the roads tomorrow. Right?

Roads should be fine in Br tomorrow. Lazy administrators that wanted a 5 day weekend. They are acting like it’s 2014, where a legit ice storm shut Baton Rouge down for a couple days

Yea i figure I've taken 1-2 years off of my life with all the shite I've pumped into my body trying to deal with this stuff

They finally completely shut down that stretch, at least northbound traffic. It took them until 2pm today, though.

Reached a high temp of 24 degrees. Still some ice on the ground but the sun did help around my location.

We got to 21. Now sitting at 16 already.
