It isn’t doing as great a job anymore. That’s why people with sense are starting to get out of Bossier City and head to Benton and Haughton.

I left and came to Lake Charles.

Up until January, that Valero was my daily stop headed home from work off Viking. I grew to know the older lady who ran it well. Sad stuff.

Not sure why they can't put that in the title of the news article. Much more than just a cop being shot and in stable condition.

unfortunately with the future shitty DSLD-type high density developments and apartments on the horizon, will need a jet pack to get out. The “leaders” think in terms of tax base.

I believe there are a like 5 new developments coming up all around the Palmetto Rd area. Very shortsighted and the traffic is going to be off the charts bad.

I wouldn't mind living in Benton. But North of 220 traffic is getting unbearable and is only getting worse. There is seriously no way of fixing it.

The traffic is already insane at rush hours. Crouch road getting tied into Swan Lake Rd is going to help, but not enough.

Yea I don’t know how you fix it besides having another major road running east/ west above 220 and below 162?

I wish somehow you could connect the end of Kingston Rd in Benton and loop it all the way around to Stockwell Rd. Also no idea why they didn’t make Swan Lake like another Airline/Benton when they re did it.

I go to Cypress Baptist. That Palmetto Rd. is still 3 lanes pisses me off to no end every Sunday afternoon at about 12:20. Two of the biggest churches in the parish and two of the bigger churches in the area getting out at the same time right across the street from one another paints a very sobering picture of what north Bossier will look like in about 5-10 years. There’s going to be neighborhoods directly to the south of both churches right there.

Found a link that gives more details.

2 dead, BCPD officer, another person shot in mid-morning armed robbery

quote:

The store's clerk and a customer were killed, a source with knowledge of the situation told KTBS.

quote:

A witness told KTBS she heard the first shots. She looked into the store and "saw it wasn't gong right." She called 911 and officers were there in less than a minute.

The woman, who did not want to be identified, said she saw a man lying on the floor inside the store with someone standing over him. The man appeared to have a wound to his head, she said.

Yes, now the new part is just an added turning lane. I was thinking they were doing 4 lanes and a turning lane.
