Office etiquette scenario - is this mean..??

So our receptionist sent out an email this morning asking us to not use the printer for a few minutes because she was printing some labels or whatever. We asked her if she could send an email once she was done to let us know we could use it again. So once she was done, she sent an email that said:
So I responded with:
I was talking to a couple of coworkers a little later and they (both female..no pics) told me it was sort of mean. Keep in mind they weren't bitching at me or anything like that. My response was that it was clearly just a silly joke and that I was just trying to be stupid and make people laugh. The receptionist even responded (to all) with an "lol" a couple minutes after I had sent it.
So I figured I'd ask the OT...was that mean? Sure, maybe in the grand, "PC" scheme of things I shouldn't have responded at all, but this office is pretty laid back and I've done it several times before with no issue taken at all.
What say you..?

Thanks , I’m finish
So I responded with:

I believe it’s spelled Finnish.
But I thought you were from Baton Rouge?
*rimshot

No, but when you work with women, you never can tell.

And keep in mind that this isn't a situation where I'm worried about repercussions or something like that. I just am asking because I don't want to be a dick on accident. I'm kind of an a-hole, sure, but not usually to people I work with, and this was (what I thought to be) clearly all in good fun/good-natured.

he must have replied to all if she replied back to all with "lol"
depends on the size and dynamic of the office. if the reply to all was to a small group, it's funny. if you blasted a few hundred folks, i could see where someone would find it mildly offensive.
that said, sounds like something i'd say, so i think it's funny.

No, it's not mean unless you knew that she was insecure and/or easily insulted.

Why?

You should be good as long as you work with adults who have a sense of humor.

Depends on your relationship with the receptionist and her personality. It's a little bit smart arse, but that sort of thing could be cool with y'all. I say some playfully smart arse things to some of my closer co-workers, and they dish it back. It brings levity to the work place.

Our entire staff is less than 20 people. And we all (for the most part) get along fine.

Nah, she's not. At all really.
