At least they fessed up to the errors. In today's world, they easily could have let it ride and never heard another word about it. Fact checking is a lost art.

They usually fess up or issue corrections, but they do it days after and they just edit the same article that's already buried in their archives. They do this so they can claim they corrected it, but by that point the false narrative the original article portrayed is already considered the correct story.

Hands up, don't shoot.

Alton Sterling was a good boy.

The writer practically had to make the story up to have that many errors in it.

Yet oddly enough, if it had, in fact, been made up it would have NO errors.

I can only hope there is one more unemployed “journalist” today. How in the hell do you get that much wrong? You have to intentionally try to get that much wrong.

Serious question? Is there a rule on when to use the number and when to spell the number? Its a slight pet peeve, but I like consistency. Either spell out the numbers or put the actual number. Don't just willy nilly do either one as the time comes to insert a number.

Hey Oweo. I'm pretty sure there is, but I do not know what it is. Personally I will usually spell out single digits or 10. I'm not going to spell out 378.

According to my technical writing instructor, the number is 13. You can go up to twelve.

Every news organization I worked out would have KILLED a sales manager or advertising executive if they actually came near our newsrooms.

So I don't think you understand how it actually worked in the past.

You may think you did or do, but you don't.

When your goal isn't reporting the news, but instead is pushing a political agenda.

What?

It's always been for profit

It died because it became full of ideologues and is nothing more than yellow journalism.

Click bait overruled selling subscriptions. You're not getting news, you're getting an opinion of some 25 year old woman who's paid 35k a year to write shitty articles then get clicks via social media.

The news has always been full of shite. The idea that there was ever such a thing a journalistic integrity is a myth.

While true, it actually attracted real journalists at one time. It's a dead industry.
