Do any of you proggies want to address why the suicide rate of "trans" people are TEN times that of normal people?

Because of people like you.

how often would this scenario actually happen?

See my stats above. It's hilariously unlikely. Probably have a better chance of getting hit by a meteor while cutting the grass.

This is an issue that BOTH parties will regret taking a stance on. It's impossible to win. Both will lose the PR battle.

but my only contention is, is it really something to worry about? should we worry more about this, than say, a pedo in a boys bathroom?

As a parent, I would be concerned about both equally if I had a son, but I only have daughters so that side of the debate has more of my attention.

I'm of the mind that we should take all these scenarios into account and make rules so that the outcome is as close to zero as possible.

It's a non issue. If you take all registered in the united states, that's .02% of the population of which only an estimated 2.7% will commit another sex crime. That's negligible to the extreme. Any broad laws passed to address a potential problem that small is just STUPID.

How about the percentage of coed high school students that wish they could get into the opposite sexs lockeroom during showertime if only there was a legal way to do it without recourse

this type of legislating is a slippery slope that I fear way more than a trans person in a bathroom

Best estimates say .01% or lower.

People are missing the real issue with all of this bathroom BS.

The real issue is the legality of "identity".

While they shouldn't, Gender and Race play an extremely large roll in the American legal system, civil court system, and other aspects of our lives. We are talking about Affirmative Action, quotas, hate crimes, college admission, hiring practices, Discrimination laws, etc etc.

"Identification" as reality destroys all of that, completely. If how someone feels about themselves trumps scientific reality, then all of those things, among MANY other things is thrown into chaos.

I just do not see this playing out as bad as you all fear

And suffer the social stigma of being called a tranny all throughout high school?

I think you highly overestimate the desire to see a boob when free porn is everywhere.

I can definitely see that. Identity politics also makes us easier to divide and control. Rather than uniting, it gives us an endless supply of enemies.

You're dense.

0 tolerance bullying laws. Anyone who makes fun of him is immediately expelled.

You'll change your mind when your 13 year old daughter comes home freaked out over the boy who was in the locker room staring at her while she showered and changed clothes earlier that day.

so exactly how long would this charade last?

so this hypothetical, completely straight kid decides he wants to see girls naked, so he gets his parents to sing off on him being trans

now he gets to go the girls locker room, but he can't act on anything or stare because if he does the girls will complain

and now, of course, the majority of the boys are going to think he is weird too

so now he is in this weird place where he is no longer one of the guys and he can't get with the chicks because he is a chick, or at least he isn't going to get with the chicks that he probably wants to get with

this whole scenario doesn't make any sense

Well in theory, he can change his identity from day to day, or minute to minute. Identity is completely and utterly arbitrary.

Which to me is the biggest danger with recognizing its "legality" or lack of a better word.

I would get upset at anyone, boy or girl, just sitting there staring at my daughter while she changes and making her uncomfortable

I don't know if they can to be honest. That is my biggest issue with all of this - how on earth can it be enforced?
