>50%of our students receive scholarship aid
100% of our students can graduate debt-free
>20% of our students' families pay nothing

"Because we seek the best students regardless of their ability to pay, we are committed to meeting 100 percent of demonstrated financial need for all four years."

"In fact, approximately 70 percent of our students receive some form of aid, and about 60 percent receive need–based scholarships and pay an average of $12,000 per year. Twenty percent of parents pay nothing. No loans required."

How do you have so much time to post if you’re a doctor

Not questioning the claim, just genuinely curious

The LSU Foundation had a sub 2.00% annual return in the 3 years ending in 2016.

And the worst level of alumni contribution in the SEC and possibly of any university of similar size.

Almost any school could make this claim.

I’m not sure how that’s really relevant to the point I was making

Just pointing out that while other places were in well diversified traditional assets, the LSU Foundation was still stuck in the mud.

At $55k/year, seems like that $600mil could burn up real quick. Not that they can't get more, just thinking aloud.

That's enough money for 2727 students to go through med school (assuming they each only take 4 years to graduate). So then from there I'm sure NYU has a very strict cap on # of students that's consistent pretty much every year so if anyone knows that number then we'll have a pretty good idea of how long it'll last. This also is not accounting for tuition hikes.

People get fricking rustled when you talk about no tuition schools.

Is there any way to find out who the donors are? This sounds like it could morph into an income sharing program.

Well all you need to do is think about the alumni list.

The university hospital system is named after Ken Langone:
He's one of the founders of Home Depot.

Other schools have programs in place for incentivizing people going into primary care fields.

LSU NOLA did (or still does?). Was an agreement to enter into a primary care field for X amount of years in the rural areas of the state. Not sure if it made too much a difference in terms of people who chose to go into primary care fields or not. I only knew a few people who did it in my class when it was available.

I imagine NYU med students being highly motivated in general and that often drives people to want to seek the more prestigious sub-specialty fields regardless. So I'd be interested to see if this make much of a difference at all.

For every 10 students that get a free ride to Harvard there was one parent willing to pay a couple million to get his son into the freshman class. Hello Mr. Kushner

Brexit dropping the markets 5% two days before most FY ending on 6/30/16 messed with a lot of performance returns.
