I'm guessing cops rough up the wrong white guys/girls too.
No doubt.
I'd be willing to bet it happens to minorities far more frequently.

It's as dishonest as saying "he was a black guy so he could be dangerous or have a weapon."
What's dishonest about this? Many people think like this thus it's reality in terms of perception.

Why is that the leading take for this story? How is cops being horrific at doing their job not the takeaway here?
Maybe the cops have always been horrible at their job or maybe not. Them fricking up is the takeaway here, them fricking up the wrong black guy is also a takeaway, why can't there be two takeaways?

So you think that these officers should just approach a physically intimidating criminal with no guns drawn and no way to defend themselves?
Sorry but cops can get killed like that. I'm not about putting good cops' lives in danger just to give some peace of mind to a potential criminal thug. You do what it takes to get home safe at night.

That is my main take away here. While I can recognize there may be a racial element in play here, the fact of the matter is that the cops did a horrible job period and that incidents like this are seemingly becoming more and more common.
Some people just have a hard time processing more than one thing at a time.
What's the difference in this happening because of racism as opposed to just a horrible guy being a shitty cop? I just don't see the need for comments to center around whether something was racist or not.

Better, you started off a little slow in this thread, but this more the quality I have come to expect from you!

Having been a victim of fraud, I would wholly support these cops coming to arrest the perp responsible for ripping me off. However...
That's not cool. Be 100% sure before you come to make the arrest. Easier said than done, I know.

100% truth. They are notorious for being ruthless. Even law-abiding citizens with half a lick of sense stay as far away from them as possible.

Given this point, I think I'll stick with my original analogy, thanks. When the best you come come up with for bad behavior is blaming it on the person at whom your bad behavior is directed, then you might want to find a new excuse...
This reads a lot like,
"Well...if she hadn't been dressed all slutty and stuff..."
"She was back-talking...what else was I supposed to do?!?"
How about SOLELY owning one's own behavior? This excuse sounds like that of an 8 year old.

True, but it still doesn't explain why five officers had to tackle him...
Once again, Credit Card fraud.

Just why do you think that is the case? If it IS the case.

The lack of an apology is appalling. One of our employees had her house raided by the U.S. Marshalls - they came in at gunpoint, full raid style. The man was the previous tenant (secretary had lived there for several months).
No apology.
And, no explanation - she had to find out from sheriff's deputies why the raid took place.

Because ALL people suck, not just police officers. You speak as if police officers exist in some vacuum and their outlook is solely determined by the way society acts, and that reasoning is ridiculous.
Besides, you have a police force because you anticipate crime. That doesn't give officers the right to break laws or half-arse their duties.

You've already told us...because citizens behave badly. They'd all by like Mr. Rogers if no one committed crimes...
Now...it was my understanding that dealing with criminals was sort of part and parcel of the job, sort of like dealing with garbage cans was part and parcel of the job of a garbage man. Unless you're suggesting there was a time when criminals were nicer, I'm not exactly seeing your point here.
From all evidence presented over the last few years, what seems clear is that either A) police have become far more aggressive towards the citizens of this country or B) many already were this way but the glut of recording devices have made these cases seem more common.
What has never seemed to be clear is that "society" has started to suddenly suck and therefore police have to respond in kind. Crime has been going down in most places for decades...regardless of one's feelings towards the moral decay of "society."

Soooo someone gets robbed, the cops say who did it? Victim says that's the guy right there!!!! Cops are supposed to casually approach and ask him nicely? Don't get me wrong, Cops still a douche and prob was too rough, but don't turn it into yet another race story. He only did it because I'm black not because the witness said it was me!!!
Witness pointed out a person who supposedly committed CREDIT CARD FRAUD not robbery!!! no need to physically assault the guy
