No it doesn't but there are few businesses out there who would come into New York and do something better than what they are already doing.

As opposed to who? Delta consistently has the best in flight experience of any of the major 3 carriers, at least in my experience.

I'd rank it:

United
American
Delta

For the flights I've been on vs price of said flights. Granted, I am based in Houston, so I've flown mostly on United (and foreign carriers) and frankly Delta tickets are always more expensive than the other two, and the service has been meh.

Also have you ever been to New York? Serious question.

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, but yes. I also have clients that are headquarted there, do a lot of business there, and which have had discussions on moving a lot of their operations out of there.

ETA: I see your response.

well you clearly have an agenda and i'm trying to ascertain how informed you actually are about what New York is like.

Versus who? I'd take Delta over Southwest, AA, United, etc.

JetBlue and Virgin are better, but as far as domestic airlines go, that's about it.

I have no agenda, just informed on the business environment there.

Probably more informed than you considering I've read much of their tax code and case law and filed multiple tax returns and voluntary disclosure agreements in the state across quite a few industries.

New York is a very difficult place to make it. Under what circumstances could a business outside New York move in and do something better than it is being done there?

American has been great to me. Southwest has the best customer service, but I hate the boarding process. United blows. I haven't flown delta in years.

And part of that is the amount of taxes they collect. Of course NYC would be happy to have Delta relocate their ops there $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Why aren't you just addressing what the discussion is about?

And yes, I've been to NYC before you question my credentials.

How much sense does it make for Delta to leave Georgia over not getting a tax cut and relocate to a state that has the 2nd highest tax rate in the US?

Again, provide a list of companies that move there from more favorable locales. It should be easy for you.

I have, there are few scenarios where a company from outside NYC could come in and build a better mousetrap than whats already there.
