what's been Roman's biggest rating as champion... on FOX???????

hint... half that

Ratings for the all of tv are down the last 10 years. You could also say the ratings when CM Punk and Bryan were champ were down from when Cena had his mid 2000s reigns.

The only larger than life character that WWE has been able to rely on in the last 5-7 years is a guy that half the time seems to not want to be in WWE and wouldn’t be doing it at all If he wasn’t the highest paid wrestler in the world by far whether he deserves it or not.

On Gargano…..with the creative brilliance of WWE from 95-05 you could have turned him into a huge draw.

And they struck lightning. Punk with the pipebomb. They rode that wave til it’s end and there was nothing left for him.

Bryan’s problem was health, but his lasting legacy will be the Yes chants. Again he touched a nerve at the right time. Same thing that Kofi did, but Kofi paid his dues in WWE for much longer

and yet Fox was still expecting so, so much more than the 2.59M SD was pulling on USA at the time when it paid $1 billion for Smackdown's rights in 2019

if Cody had shown an ounce of his pops’ charisma while working for WWE, then AEW wouldn’t exist.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that I agree with this 100%…..and some of that has followed him to AEW.

also... we're having his discussion and completely dismissing Rey Mysterio (who's still doing it to this day) and the late, GREAT Eddie Guerrero or even WCW/WWF Chris Jericho

neither fit that mold and yet did their thing to get over and forced their way to the top of the card

Yea I don’t think it’s a question of if Cole or Gargano could get over….the question is opportunity and creative.

We have to pick these matches? Heck:

Joe pins Cross
Walter submits Dragunov
Gonzalez pins Kai
Cole wins 2-1
Grimes pins Knight
Baxter pins Holland

He wouldn’t have been the franchise back then, but could he have filled a niche? Absolutely. He can still fill a niche in the mid card. The problem with a lot of Indy darlings (and not putting this on Kyle) is that they think just because a few hundred guys in a high school gym go nuts for them means that can do the same night in and night out in 15k plus arenas and a handful of 50k + stadiums each year. It’s different being able to sell tees to a few hundred die hards and being able to have huge appeal where network executives are asking you to appear on other programming and studios want you to have a role in their movies.

What the hell? What about all the time it took for me to research that match and interview experts and then to sleep on it and then to type out my decision????

by the way... since next year's Money in the Bank will be back in Allegiant Stadium...

instead of a ladder match... can the Money in the Bank winner be determined by who can get to that fake Al Davis Memorial torch at the top of the building and push the button to turn it on/light it

Meh, after last nights picks I’m not too excited about picking again but I have an idea about this show:

Joe win*
Dragunov sub WALTER
Gonzalez pin
Cole win 2/3
Knight pin Grimes

*Big E cash in for NXT title.

I was promised that Rey Mysterio would get thrown off a building in a recent MITB match only to be told that there was a ledge or something below that saved him. I'm not getting my hopes up for anything.

there was a sub-roof under the main roof, G... geez

also... 2020 was not a good year for poor Rey Mysterio... getting chucked off the roof of a highrise... having his eye gouged out like 3 times

He became Aleister Black's mentor on the way down, too.
