I have a daughter that will be a SR in high school in August. Trying to help her figure out what to do is something I've been struggling with. She's not exactly going to be a plumber.

Travel nurse for a bit, make some great money, see the country, then go back to school and become a Nurse Practitioner.

She'll always have a solid, good paying job available.

I have to pay a lawyer from SMU $150k a year to discharge car bankruptcies. Or I can pay a dude that can do things $60k (or less) to generate the same amount of profit.

Yea you are a bit lost here.

What’s serious bank? Because most will be doing like 60k.

A good plumber can easily make 6-figures if he's working for himself and doesn't have a boss siphoning off over half of his labor.

This has been said for years now and there never been that big boom that people keep claiming for “skilled laborers”

The boomers are almost all retired now. Say what you will about them, but at least they weren't afraid to get their hands dirty. We are currently in the midst of a massive industrial build-out and have a housing shortage. If you can wire up a fuse panel, set a toilet, or install a HVAC system, there's money to be made.

The skilled labor market is being flooded with illegal immigrants. It’s going to drive those wages down and help fight inflation. Very bad deal for hard working Americans.

Those immigrants aren't highly skilled. They're low-skilled labor that will dig the trench for the plumber to lay pipe into.
