. Yeah, it's asinine. Even celery has like 5 calories per 100g
There (probably) aren't any true negative calorie foods as the very low-calorie ones tend to have much lower thermic effects so it is unlikely any of them actually go net negative.

It actually draws calories out of you. So corn actually helps you lose weight.
Pahahahaha no that’s not true at all. You do realize the fact that corn is in basically ever processed food we have is the reason for Americans being so obese.

If you eat something that contains x amount of carbs or calories, but then shite out the whole object, did you really just intake said carbs and calories?
For example: peas and corn
You really should add peanuts to this list. I always have whole peanuts up in there but I swallow them whole and know for a fact I am not getting the full nutritional or caloric impact as if I chewed them or ate peanut butter.
Try swallowing a handful of peanuts. They come out unscathed. Swallow corn or peas and they acids dissolve the germ and leave the fiber.
I believe lettuce is a negative calorie food in that it takes more energy to eat and digest than it provides.

Not many nutritional “facts” in this thread.

I'd like to think most, if not all, are trolling but you really can't tell these days.

think those net calorie estimations include the time spent eating the item.
For example celery might be 5 calories, and you might only burn less than 1 calorie in the processes of chewing and digesting it. However, the rest of your body keeps going while you're eating, and for an average sized man that means burning 1.25 calories per minute at rest. If you spend 3 or 4 minutes eating a stalk of celery, you might be around net zero or negative calories when you're finished.
I mean just imagine getting all your daily calories from eating nothing but hundreds of stalks of celery. If I started at breakfast, I'm pretty sure I'd be ready for bed before I finished eating them all.
I think people misunderstood what I was saying.
The net calorie calculation includes the effort it takes for you to eat it and digest it. I was trying to come up with some logic as to why anyone would think negative calories are a thing.
