Yes if she is using appropriate PPE AND is properly taking the PPE off she will be fine.
People freak out and don’t realize they just contaminated themselves when taking off PPE.
You don’t need a full hazmat suit. Gown, gloves, regular mask and eye protection (face shield or goggles)
Only need the N95 if the patient will be undergoing a treatment or procedure that could aerosolize particles (intubation, etc).

I don't know what your state department is mandating
Where I live....we are saying you do NOT need N95 for every confirmed or suspect COVID-19 cases. Only needed for the situations I mentioned above.
Transmission is not airborne like TB or measles.

They sent home all senior nursing students home, so they can’t finish clinical hours for graduation and sit for the NCLEX. Maybe they will cut orientation short for December new grads because that is pretty common

That's a whole other thing then
Up to every facility what they do. If they want to be over cautious (and considering their patient pop that makes total sense) that is up to them.
I couldn't imagine wearing an N95 for 8-12 hours at a time. I struggle after about 45 minutes in one.

Would imagine he means the nursing schools since many colleges are making students go home and go to online classes only.

I had heard students were complaining that their clinicals were still happening, only to be told this is what the real world is like

Some places right now are paying an extra 200 bones per shift, over and above OT.

Well , they have substitutions on-line that will qualify as clinical hours and be accepted. (wife is RN/instructor).
