Make sure they are aware of your history of asthma. It will effect the medicine they give you for a pharmacologic stress in the event you can't do the treadmill.

The dye can give a hell of a headache as well, drink lots of water afterward it lessens the intensity.

This is true on both parts. In fact, I had an above average score (meaning bad) and had a cath done. Turned out to be plaque on the outside of the arteries.

I've had a couple of treadmill ones. Radioactive "dye" was injected into an IV so the blood flow could be monitored immediately after the test. I was told by the cardiologist that the injection of a radioactive substance is why the term "nuclear" is used.
Using medication to achieve your target heart rate was called a "chemical" stress test iirc; using a chemical to increase your heart rate, as opposed to doing it on a treadmill.
Unless the cardiologist was totally inept or high, the term "nuclear stress test" has nothing to do with treadmill vs drug to increase your heart rate.

I think I am going to just see a cardiologist and ask him to recommend a stress test. I will let him know what drugs I am taking and that I have a family history. I can do a normal treadmill so thinking I can do that in conjunction with the dye to take pics of my heart.
