I did get a chuckle when he called a Porsche a chick mobile
I'm glad people like and enjoy them.
This all started due to a challenge of a 911 vs. muscle car in 1/4.
There is a reason why seasoned drag racers use muscle cars. It is rare to see a Porsche out there. No one is impressed with their times the few times I saw one.

No comparison to muscle cars.
No reason to compare.

It was actually a challenge by OP to bring "my honda" to TN to race him. When I said I didn't have a honda, OP finally admitted to driving a SUV.
The only person arguing whether or not a 911 is the optimal drag car is you. No one has claimed otherwise.

Not sure what you're trying to get at.
It's cool that you got what you like. I think it's not exactly worth comparing to late '60s and early '70s cars. They are too different.

NOPE, nope, I didn't start that discussion.

We've veered so off topic itt, which is fine by me.
The whole thing started with OP saying they had better cars. He posted a couple of 60s muscle cars and I replied that they were slow and fat. Which they are, by today's standards. The whole argument was a comparison between the muscle of 60s/70s and cars of today.
Many many cars of today would smoke most of the popular muscle cars from back then. Obviously, this comparison is stock vs stock. I can't imagine why anyone would get into an argument about stock vs modified.
It's a plain fact that in stock trim, those old muscle cars (while fast for their time) would not keep up with even low level performance cars of today. That goes for quarter mile, road racing, auto x etc.
Dumbass OP seems to ignore the fact that we've been in a decade long HP war and the performance you can get today for relatively cheap is insane. A base mustang 4 cylinder can put down times that aren't far off from the top trims of those massive v8 muscle cars from that era. The 68 GTX he was pimping as some bastion of muscle car performance get's to 60 mph slower than a 2016 honda accord.
Car and Driver did a test in 2006 of a 68 GT500KR and a 68 427 Vette. The GT500 did a 13.9 Quarter/5.4 0-60 and the vette did a 13.8 Quarter/5.3 0-60. Fast for the time, definitely. Fast for today? Lol no. shite, Ford makes F150s that hit those numbers.
I mean shite, in today's world we have automakers pumping out 800+ HP, sub 10 second cars with a full warranty. It's crazy.

The offer was made to bring your fast, fast, fast Volkswagen 996 to the track.
Put up or shut, mouth breather.

Here’s the 1/4 miles fastest cars. I’m pretty sure no one in this thread has owned any of these until you get to a corvette about 1/2 way down the list of course this is straight off the production floor. Of course there are faster 1/4 mile cars but they have been modified to run faster than factory.
Sorry, list is bullshite. Have you not read the thread?
No Honda Accords, 4 cylinder Mustangs, or super fast Volkswagen 996 on the list.

And based on tour math, they were grandmothers in their 30’s. Free love huh?

Here is a thread more suited to Sun God the fat kid, Mouth Breather, scary Tactical Man, and the 50 year old who was left out of every generation's fun.

And that is the right answer. I have had a lot of people ask me at car shows if my 50 year old Chevy is 'fast'. I just look to either side of me at newer cars and say, "It's quick, but by today's performance standards, it's not fast at all". It most always gets a confused look by some that don't understand the engineering technology and advances of the new engines and transmissions.
eta: Good thread Savage
