James Rhodes, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office spokesman, said Kammeyer was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe west on Southeast Currin Road near Wallace Road around 8:40 p.m., when she failed to negotiate a turn in the road, lost control and crossed on-coming lanes. The SUV then went into a ditch, rolled and hit a power pole.
Firefighter-paramedics from the Estacada Fire District extricated Kammeyer from the wreckage, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rhodes said there was no indication that alcohol or drugs were involved, but said crash-reconstruction investigators a trying to determine whether excessive speed was a contributing factor.
Despite initial reports to the contrary, Kammeyer was wearing a seatbelt, said firefighters who removed her from the vehicle.
The crash knocked out power to nearly 70 nearby customers until Portland General Electric crews could repair the damage.
