Nope and you can just walk into the Bureau of Engraving & Printing and help yourself to some freshly printed cash. Nobody is there to guard it.

The IRS is part of the Department of the Treasury.

And no, the entire federal government is not shut down. Only the parts of it that don't already have appropriated funding. A pretty good chunk of the federal government will continue to operate.

Don't get me wrong, there are still significant impacts but it isn't as though everyone in DC will be staying at home tomorrow. NASA isn't shutting down the space station.

I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure you're thinking of the federal reserve.

Of course we still pay taxes. Somebody has to keep the Democrat base fed.

You can't expect them to spend their blunt wrap and 32oz money on food.

Funniest part is nothing really shuts down beyond national parks. Servicemen won't get paid but still have to show up. That's pretty shitty. There will be some stopgap to fix that tomorrow if the whole thing isn't resolved.

If it were up to me it could just stay shut down.

Um, that's a big negative. Plenty of stuff shuts down, probably close to half of everything.

You must not like getting local highways and bridges built. Most of them depend heavily on federal grants.

It is funny how much of a stink is raised when the government shuts down, but life continues as normal for everyone. Just how bloated is the gov

Honestly, I’ve been so busy at work I haven’t watched any news in weeks. I didn’t even know about the shutdown until yesterday when my wife mentioned it.

I only wish Section 8 payments would stop. Now that would be incredible.

You are wrong. Armed forces personnel still get paid.

Almost all of the national parks are still open.

Many Federal offices still open. Only non essential services closed. can't tell you what closed, but not that many, other than a few contracted services. Most federal employees will continue to get their full pay.

This is politics. Don't believe everything you read on the internet or see on TV. Much fake news out there.

"Non essential" should permanently be closed
