They probably heard about a fidget spinner sale and was trying to beat the rush.

Saw this and the first thin I thought of was that they will be the first ones whining when they can't get a job.
I wish one of these would walk into an interview I am conducting. I'd ask a couple of general questions and then "So, I hear you were one of the ones 'brave' enough to walk out on the Vice President during graduation?"...."Well, we'll be in touch. You can go now."

PoliBoard really only goes one way with these topics. I was hoping to get a better discussion here. But do what you have to do.
And this is exactly like the people who got up and walked out. Snowflake didn't like the answer he got on Political board so he took his toys and went somewhere else. Only the OT Lounge is definitely not a Safe Space.

Why lie to them? Scared to hurt their feelings?
Posted on 5/22/17 at 7:52 am to GetCocky11
It was their last "hey look at me" moment before having to find a real job. Another reason why ND sucks arse

I'm gonna give them the benefit of doubt and say that 20 years from now, they will be embarrassed for having done this. Lord knows I did some embarrassing shite in my early 20's. At the time I thought I was being clever and innovative/standing up for my beliefs. There is a level of social ignorance in certain situations that adolescents/young adults still carry.
At least I would hope. I'm kind of scared to see what this group will be 20 years from now.

Had a chance to hear VP Biden speak a while back. I don't agree with much of the Obama admin's policies, but I still went and was respectful. Didn't go out of my way to get up to him to shake his hand like most others did, but I still had respect for his office.
A lot of people on both sides act ridiculous with some of this stuff. I'm not sure about everyone else, but opportunities like that don't come along too much.

This times a million. I'm usually a live and let live kind of person, but there's a time and place for your personal protests. And this isn't one of them.

Couldn't agree more.

Yep, since he's a ND grad, probably doesn't know what he's doing anyway.

The real world is going to bitch slap these snowflakes.

Was this before or after they walked across the stage? If it was after, then yeah, I'm walking out with them.

Disrespectful? It's their ceremony and they already got their "diplomas". They can walk out if they feel like it. Lol at all the butthurt in this thread

It absolutely is disrespectful to get up and leave in the middle of a speech like that, regardless of who the speaker is.

Sure they can, and they can also be judged for making that decision.

I'd say walking out of a speech by a sitting VP giving a commencement speech just because you don't agree with his politics show a lot more butthurt than anything in this thread, but what do I know?
Posted on 5/22/17 at 8:38 am to GetCocky11
I would normally say, "yes", but...since he went to Hanover College for his Undergrad...how could ND graduates not walk out on him?

N. Korea is looking for a few smart men and women to work on their missile program. They should move there.

Then don't go at all if it bothers you so much. Of course, then you wouldn't get the attention.
