I don't get involved with co workers at all but I'm a heck of a team mate and professional for my co workers and managers while I'm on the clock. I don't do anything social or outside of work with any of em.

Unless you’re best friends with them outside of work, or their kids and your kids are good friends at school, who in the hell goes to a co-worker’s kids party?

I don’t even like to go to my birthday party.

I love my teams and cut it up a bit with them in the office and occasional work function.

I can honestly say it’s never crossed my mind to be involved with family functions like a kids birthday party.

I think it's strange to even invite a colleague to your child's birthday party...

Those are your coworkers, they're not (at least they shouldn't be) your friends. Why would they even invite you to their child's birthday party?

This is why when we throw a birthday party for one of our kids at the house, it's more of a party for the adults with bbq, beer and booze where we happen to have cake and sing happy birthday.

If the party is off site at a trampoline park or some shite, it's a drop your kids off kind of party.

ETA

Also never any gifts. The list thing we need in our house is more cheap plastic crap from China.

Wow some of you guys are terrible with your judgments against your coworkers - you must have quite the awful work environments?

Im in healthcare(hospital) working 12+ hour shifts, and my coworkers are a large part of why I’m still there.
