When I was in high school here in South Florida (class of '82) the drinking age was 18. But this was before MADD so no on gave a shite. We could buy beer at 15-16 easily. We knew the places that carded because they were so rare. We'd hit Bill's Beer Barn (a drive thru store), grab a case of Bud long necks and we were set for Saturday night.
Also, 1982 was the year Vanna White debuted on Wheel of Fortune.

Ocean Pacific shirts
Those were the North Face long sleeve t-shirts of their day in the mid to late 80s.
The goose down heavy jacket with the elk logo (can't think of the company logo name right now) was a given during the winter as well. I associate it with the 80s much more than I do the Members Only jacket because literally everyone I went to school with had one in the 80s.
Speaking of Members Only jackets, can you remember how their jingle catchphrase went?

You Can't Do that on Television
Reading Rainbow
Anyone remember having counselor a speak to your class after Challenger?

My brother and I argue to this day that he was home sick and I wasn't when the Challenger disaster occurred. I'm convinced I was as well. The Challenger explosion was one of those "I know where I was when it happened" moments but I don't remember it being anywhere close to being as traumatic as 9/11 was.

You def had to have grown up in the eighties to first know what this was in reference to, and how popular this campaign was!

Anyone remember the animated children's movie Dot and the Kangaroo? I remember it was an Australian animated movie with a freaky scene/song at the end called the Bunyip song. It was one of those that would come on HBO in the early 80s. That song about a supernatural monster was a little freaky for a children's movie.

I still sometimes think slime will fall on someone for saying "I don't know" on TV
