The one at Florida and Monterey was Sicily's pizza. Mr. Gatti's was across the street by Cora Dr. also.

If memory serves me correctly, when traveling from Donaldsonville into Baton Rouge, it was on the left side of Airline Highway not long before Siegen Lane.

When I was around 12/13 years old (1980), my uncle and I went to this ice cream shop in a Sherwood Forest shopping center. It used to be located where sports authority used to be about 1/4 mile south of old Hammond Hwy on Sherwood Forest boulevard. I can’t remember what the shop was called but it was bigger than baskin Robbins and offered a seated bar to enjoy sundaes and malts.

Obviously that was forty years ago, and that area is a shithole area today.

Don't remember that. Never did anything on Plank Rd, never even saw these places

The Real Superstore
this place I remember

and the BR Schwegmann's. That was a great store, reasonable prices and good selection.

Here's where we'll see how far back people go: does anyone remember Globe? It was a sort of a combination K Mart/grocery on Airline, near where BRCC is now. I went there once in the late '70s when I was about 10. It was the dirtiest store I'd ever seen.

Riverside, the most hated company in BR. Those frickers still over on River Rd, close to downtown by the Casino?

I grew up off of Hooper in Central so Plank was the center of commerce for us for a lot of things. It was still perfectly fine in the 80s.
