Which is the better club? I am mostly interested in the golf, but in order to get my wife on board the amenities have to be pretty strong.

Beau has more amenities and two golf courses. Neither are as good as Money Hill.....but Money Hill is too far out in the sticks.

When I was doing business in west St Tammany I had more bounced checks from the Beau Chene area than anywhere else. Must have spent all their money at the club. Take it for what it's worth.

I live between the two, so Money Hill is a little low on the convenience scale

Well at least you spelled beau Chene correct, so go there.

The club at Tchfuncte is struggling from what I hear. And the golf course is not the best. I don’t know anything about Beau Chene. If you work from home, come out to Moneyhill: people are friendly and the golf course is nice, plus there are nicer views and a bunch of lakes/ponds, and hunting if you are into that.

Everything I've seen tells me Moneyhill is the best of the 3, but its 40 minutes away from my house.

Yep

Serious financial issues.

They’ve toyed with the idea of going semi private or public but I’m pretty sure that was to threaten the homeowners into joining the club which was an issue/. They had less than 40% of the homeowners join the club.
I think they recently passed something to force homeowners into joining the club so that ought to bail them out.

As to golf, beau chene has the better offering and they have very nice tennis facility.

Tchefuncta just hired a new kitchen/food/bar GM. A buddy of mine that’s been in the high end service industry for awhile. So look for improvements in the dining room/ bar experience

Hate to see that. It was a nice place back in the day, especially for kids. Decent if not great golf facilities. Lots of country clubs are struggling, so maybe it shouldn't be a surprise.

My info is a bit dated so someone may chime in but it was always like this:

Tchefuncte CC was more of the Covington elite / old money / older couples club with a nice but classic golf course.

Beau Chene was the newer money crowd, MILF’s of $100k millionaire lawyers, serious tennis club with 36 holes of pretty damn nice golf.

Money Hill was the newer and nicer club / course but so far out that it challenges the membership and always has the club on the edge of financial trouble.

I think Tchefuncta was head and shoulders above Beau Chene in its heyday. You had Ron Hickman as golf pro, and a guy named Wayne running the dining room- both excellent at their jobs. Wayne had a woman named Bernice helping him, and she was good, too.

The golf course always struck me as pretty forgiving, for whatever that's worth.

Tchefuncta used to feel much more secluded than Beau Chene. Probably still true to some extent.

It seems like I’ve heard that story before with TCC. Going back 20 years they have hired and fired new people and built new clubhouse, and dining facility but it’s the same old story.
Maybe this time they’ll get it right. It would be nice since it’s a great “looking” place.
