I own 3 MH tents and a bunch of apparel. All very good stuff.

I can't remember the MH tent I had that had problems. Skylight, something like that.

is Columbia still appropriate or is wearing Columbia anything embarrassing?

You'd have to give a shite first.

It's an traditional english country menswear company. They probably make women's clothes too, not sure. They have a couple of trademark waxed cotton coats that became popular here, and now they introduce like 50 new pieces of outerwear a year, most of which don't return the next year. If people want Barbour just for the brand, you can get deep discounts on the discontinued shite.

I still use a 20 Year Old Sierra Design tent. I'm not sure they even make the model anymore. Meteor Light, they still do.

I haven't had one issue with my tents. Still own it? If so, call them up as there's a lifetime warranty.

I have the 15° 650 down, and I have no complaints, but I also know Western Mountaineering is out there, Enlightened Equipment, Feathered Friends, Montbell and so on.

I have an older Kelty tent I still use to car camp with sometimes. Sierra Designs and OR are overlooked for simple gear, I think.

Kelly is tGOAT cheap outdoor brand. Their tents are usually rock solid.

Sierra Designs and OR are good companies, I appreciate that they both seem to try new things with their gear, especially SD's tents

Mine is 800 fill...step up yo!

I actually would like to own some of MH's higher end bags but they are made for little people.

Do you rock a 4 season tent?

ETA: I am assembling my winter camping gear slowly but surely. So far I only have a 4 season pad and bag. Looking to get a tent next but man this shite is expensive

I used it even after we had the issue (sizing was off and zipper separating from the wall). My sister has it now, and as far as I know, still uses it.

A friend put one of those on his dogs when we were camping in 11 mile canyon about a month ago and we gave him so much shite for it

Patagonia is expensive because the materials and processes they use are believed to be by Yvon the best available. Perhaps when he dies, there will be a shift, but his vision is pretty well ingrained in the corporate culture.

I want to read the book. The articles on their process in the catalog are interesting. I exist in a completely different environment than Patagonia but i would be lying if I said I wasn't envious of a corporate culture that included kids and dogs in the office as well as their environmental consciousness.

Serious question: Where would someone find these deep Barbour discounts? Asking for a friend, of course.

Check Orvis clearance, although December is not the best time to buy. Orvis is the biggest seller of Barbour in America. I think that sierra trading post also has Barbour stuff sometimes, but not 100% on that.

Yes, MH Direkt 2.

Absolutely. I'm lucky, I'm able to get into the Columbia employee store and only pay 52% of retail. So, I purchase MH as much as possible. Some of their products I don't like or don't fit so I end up looking for deals on other companies elsewhere.
