Dude you are having a conversation with an internet moron who is saying that C S Lewis wasn’t profound.

C S Lewis, who was profound enough to be a professor of Lit at both Oxford and Cambridge who’s sold over 30 million copies of his books and whose brought up as much now as when he was last alive over 50 years ago. Mere Christianity is only taught at practically every single Protestant seminary in the world.

But this internet dude doesn’t see anything profound.
I’m sure thousands of people will also visit Displaced Buckeyes grave after he’s been dead 50 years.

To go along with your very good argument:

Nature is finely tuned: she doesn't get it very wrong very often, but when she does she quickly rights the ship. Oh sure, there's hiccups here and there, but those are a natural part of its gearing. Generally, it's a well-oiled, self-healing machine.

Well then, if humans have our perfect dear old mother nature up against the ropes beating her arse down (which we do to a certain degree) then it begs the rhetorical questions of, "Well who's fault is that? Why did she allow it?"

Since mother nature is so perfectly and finely tuned, balancing out her natural selection across the entire land and seascape so that no one single species gets too uppity (all being objective facts)- then how could she of fricked up so badly, so severely, just this once?

How in this world did the arbitrator of existence get it so wrong with a bed chitting of epic proportions just this once with you and I? Why didn't she nip us in the bud when she witnessed us getting all high and mighty with our opposable thumbs, our wheels and our tool making skills?

Perhaps she couldn't (and most certainly, she didn't), or perhaps "she" doesn't hold the nuts like we think she does- or maybe she doesn't even really exist at all, or not like we think she does. Maybe this is all meant to be: We are the gatekeepers, the stewards, of this planet; meant to utilize its resources within.

One thing is for sure, she's not coming back from this "fight" to whip us; this train is too big and rolling too fast. We can wipe ourselves out (hell we can destroy this planet today if we'd like) but we are here to stay or go on our own accord: If we irreversibly poison our oceans that's on us, and irreversible means just that. If we vaporize everything as we lob nuclear warheads at each other, it's on us. We are the apex predator with the ability to cannibalize ourselves as our own worst enemy, and mother nature can't do a damned thing about it.

Agreed. His logic is not even that, but he was misquoted.

That said, the guy has no interest in being swayed. Couple that with the fact that you can't reason with a fool: No matter his beliefs, if the man is going to sit there and state that C.S. Lewis was "meh" with what he brought to humanity's table, and do it with a straight face, then he is irredeemable in respect to being worthy of debate.

C.S. might be "meh" to him, but to extrapolate that out to mean that he wasn't profound at all, or in any way, or to any one person is just dumb or is just a troll, and both are equal and synonymous attributes of a foolish person.
