What's the latest count of members of the task force?

Is it less than 450?

Looking for a number employed by the city and not that witch.

Asking because I may go to a pelicans game but will not go due to low numbers of officers.

I heard on the news a couple of days ago that NOPD headcount was 930. Will they all, or any, be protecting your vehicle windows at an upcoming Pelicans game? Probably not.

Choose wisely.

Total number may be around 900 or so, but if you take out Investigators, administrative, supervisors, traffic, desk duty, horse, motorcycle, medical leave, etc., it is about half that. Take out for vacation, sick leave and other absences, then divide by 8 districts.
Factor in 2 or 3 shifts, seven days a week...
You're left with a very small number of officers ACTUALLY on the streets on the front lines fighting crime.

Park in the paid garage. I’ve not heard of issues in there.

Hell it was bad even 4 years ago, sat staged waiting for a code 4 (scene safe) on a shooting in the 7th (NO East) for half an hour because they only had 1 officer for the entire district that night.

And Baton Rouge’s mayor and police chief have continued to hold up New Orleans as the standard in most of their policy, hiring, and promotion standards as if N.O is the beacon of effective and efficient policing in this country

There's nobody "fighting crime" in New Orleans! We need about 15 or 20 Batmen, but we've got a few dozen cops on the street reacting to out of control thievery and violence. Witnesses? Nobody saw shite, knows shite, or will say shite.

A car burglary is low priority when you've got idiots shooting each other (not really a problem, maybe even the solution with some range time to improve accuracy, but you've got to respond anyway).

I left my office in Mandeville yesterday morning and had to go to Arabi for a jobsite visit. Waze took me across the Causeway, down Franklin Avenue, past Jackson Barracks, into Da Parish.

This was the first time I’ve ever seen numerous LASP sitting along I-10 and I-610 in the hundreds of times I’ve driven through the areas. It was also the first time I’ve driven past the Barracks into Da Parish…

It was mesmerizing how the world changed the second I got into Da Parish. Hiroshima 8-6-45 to 2-7-23 before a cat could lick its arse.

I will only drive a vehicle with a manual transmission in New Orleans. To a Heathen, it might as well be a helicopter.
