Does the media play up certain killings? Sure. Locally in BR there was a lot more both media coverage, social media coverage and people showing up to memorials for AS than the McKinley QB or any number of other deaths in BR.

There was a rally in St. Louis a few weeks ago that my friend posted on instagram.
Yes there are people who are doing things on a much smaller scale to address the issue.
Yes if a white person kills a black person, people will be out with pitchforks ready to protest.
Just because you dont know about something, doesnt mean it isnt happening. Also, if this is a great concern to you, feel free to talk to organizations in these areas to possibly start rallys to address it.

So, what you're saying is that it's not the media who are pushing the narrative that black on black crime is less important, it's the people.
