stunning omissions to me
you can tell there is an element of the politicians that are involved in the idea and the money people behind it
some of these people were simply born in NOLA and havd nothing else to do with the city
while there are notable people raised in the city not on the list and a host of people with deep ties and history not represented

Great post and many of the other poster's recommendations are great as well. I think the one thing I'd say the answer will be is that they will come. The OP states
This will be NOLA's version of what Hollywood does and will likely mean they can do ceremonies every year or whatever. There's no way musicians like Al Hirt and Louis Prima will be left off.
My biggest gripe is to leave the slimy fricking politicians off the list. Especially that royal c*unt Teddy. She obviously signed off on this project so she gets a plaque. I really hope people continue to rip it up every time they put a new one down.

It doesn’t matter. The entire thing due to the inaugural class is a pathetic joke at best and a malicious insult at worst. I hope someone destroys every politician’s piece the day they’re installed.

Confused about Todd Graves and many others on the list.

So, still a no.
Moronic take.

That is an amazingly bad list. Where are Tom Fitzmorris, George Washington Cable, Walker Percy, Andrew Higgins, Joe Impastato, and The Reverend Benjamin Palmer?
I don’t know about all of those guys, but Walker Percy could be #1 on the list.
And how about John Kennedy O’Toole? He won a Pulitzer Prize.

Louis Prima might be one of the Top 5 New Orleanians by shear notoriety and dude routinely gets missed.
