WDSU from Dec. 28
WDSU reached out to Port NOLA, the parking lot where the break-ins happened on the situation. They released the following statement on the matter:
“In response to recent vehicle break-ins, the Harbor Police Department is increasing presence in the area near the cruise terminals and is working with nearby stakeholders to provide 24/7 security. Investigations are ongoing.”
Workers at Port NOLA said the break-ins are happening every other night and are hoping it will end.
WDSU News also reached out to NOPD on the situation.
New Orleans City Business
“Port NOLA has an agreement to use a portion of the lot as needed to supplement our Port-owned parking lot at Erato Street Terminal,” Dolese said. “Cruise passengers have used this lot safely for years.”
With the recent spike in vehicle break-ins in the area, Dolese said this lot was targeted as well.
