Friday jamboree, McDonogh 35 at Vandebilt. No real issues or questionable behavior until after a Mc35 receiver received a hit that was flagged but not a dirty hit, and he was carted off by ambulance for what was said to be a dislocated shoulder.

You could see the Mc35 sideline a little more animated and the head official went over and spoke to the coach.

Next series, Mc35 player cheap shots a Vandy player on the ground and a little pushing and shoving takes place.

The officials shut down the game at that point with 4:39 remaining in the game. I support the officials decision to stop the game to prevent things from escalating. It was a meaningless jamboree, no sense in letting the game go on and tensions escalate into more acting out.

Officials have a tough job in today’s society.
