Well spoken and a great guideline to follow.
The key point is prevention from spilling over onto the field of play.
Friday jamboree, McDonogh 35 at Vandebilt. No real issues or questionable behavior until after a Mc35 receiver received a hit that was flagged but not a dirty hit, and he was carted off by ambulance for what was said to be a dislocated shoulder.
You could see the Mc35 sideline a little more animated and the head official went over and spoke to the coach.
Next series, Mc35 player cheap shots a Vandy player on the ground and a little pushing and shoving takes place.
The officials shut down the game at that point with 4:39 remaining in the game. I support the officials decision to stop the game to prevent things from escalating. It was a meaningless jamboree, no sense in letting the game go on and tensions escalate into more acting out.
Officials have a tough job in today’s society.

Good job by crew..... What you don't want to see is a kid do something stupid in a jam that will keep him out week one.
Very likely that was the fairly new defenseless receiver rule that was flagged. You either have to hit him with open hands or wrap up - can't shoulder hit until he makes a football move and becomes a runner.
