Walton or Johnson had a place in Eastover. Sold it for a huge loss when they moved to Houston.
Steve Johnson lived on Cardinal Lane in The Sanctuary in Mandeville in the early 2000s.

NOLA East: Phantom Interchanges
The area became a refuge before development could begin.

Or were they prepared with the thinking that the city would expand eastward?
This is how piss poor Louisiana planning is. When future growth is actually considered and prepared for, it confuses the hell out of people.

I guess it was safer to stop there than any other place in N.O. East. Poor bastard

Must have been one of those it's either in my pants or in the bushes type of emergency. Baw probably drank too much Metamucil before they hit the road.

On Google streetview there is an old man taking a shite in the brush on the lake side of the Michoud exit.
He has very poor judgement. I mean, a white guy stopping at that exit?

i know that john fourcade had a house in eastover. my grandfather used to play golf at eastover every weekend, and we'd hang out at the pool, occasionally taking a drive through the neighborhood. wonder if any other local "celebs" had homes in eastover? this would have been the late 80s or early 90s, so it was still relatively new.

This explanation is the only one I have ever heard that makes any sense. The exits are completely worthless and are just circles to turn around on? I like Wiki's description:
They were never completed, or if they were, they were immediately blocked off, I don't recall ever seeing all four ramps open with cars going over the overpasses.
