Haven't been to Bridge Lounge in 6 or 7 years, but that was one of the few places where black people frequented regularly, but it didn't scare off white people because they were all middle to upper-middle class. Cool place, but I guess it went to shite?

Yea only time I would go there was after a shift when I worked at Del monicos

They had a pretty good trivia night back in the day.

That's a legit decent area.
yeah it's a decent area, but right in the direct vacinity it has an abundance of shady apts. my ex lived a block up st Andrew in the complex right behind subway, it was gated and still had sketch characters around. And there are several more like that within 2-3 blocks that are even more sketchy.... also go down just a few more blocks toward the river and you right where the old St Thomas used to be.

A good area, but a progressively worse spot in they good area

Before I lost faith in the city, that was the area that I was really interested in eventually buying in. Still quite a few beautiful homes/condos in terms of architecture at a relatively cheap price, plus you can walk to the WHD/FQ. I would never be able to afford them, but Coliseum Square has some amazing homes. I used to always check real estate listings and this was one of my favorite places I've ever run into:

Also, I used to live really close to that area, but on the wrong side of the tracks. Just google streeted it and:

I know that you (SS) always get shite for saying that you walk through shady areas without issue. I used to do the same. When I went to the WHD, I would walk down Carondelet (past MLK and the Borden factory), to avoid the panhandlers on St. Charles. This was back in 2009-2010. As beautiful as that place was, it would have to be dirt cheap for me to move back in, and I would Uber everywhere.

At 4:40 p.m. Friday, police report that an armed robbery took place in the 2200 block of Joseph Street in the Garden District. According to the NOPD news release, a man armed with a "long gun" approached a 79-year-old woman as she stepped toward the door to her house, saying "give me your purse and don't say anything."

I quoted Nola.com from the OP

Doesn't matter where it was it's pretty shitty to rob an old lady

Dude, I'm always down to shite on NOLA, but that was a solid area as recently as 5 years ago. Obviously not Audubon Place or the best areas of St. Charles or Magazine, but it was fine. The place in the photo I posted earlier is worth at least $1m, and it's within blocks of places worth $2m+. Not trying to defend NOLA, it's actually a really bad sign that shootings are happening there.

Once the shootings start happening in the WHD, then there will be no safe area in the city.

Bridge Lounge was cool up until they closed. Don't know why they did, but it's a whiskey bar now. Barrel Proof.
