I'm not angry either.

You've come to accept that, based on Race, Soldiers will have different standards of behavior? You accept this and are comfortable with this?

Civilians may or may not be held to different standards of behavior based on Race, but, this thread is about the US Army, which has different standards of behavior that are based on Race. An Officer of a certain Race is held to a lower standard of judgment than a Private of a different Race. I suppose that some may say that this is a temporary and necessary expedient for the time being, and, maybe they have a point.

I meant the internet fallout, which admittedly, didn't lead to much. I just suspect that many of the same people who are defending these cadets were the same people calling for the scout snipers heads.

Probably. And honestly I'd be just as critical of the cadets if I didn't see them more as Beyonce fans than actual activist lol. Sorry but I met many a butter bar females fresh out of the academy and they were about as sharp as a sack of marbles. I believe the military handled it about as well as expected. They will wash out if they are as bad as some think. Or they'll make it miserable for their subordinates. I'm just glad I'm out now so I don't have to deal with these people anymore.

dn't think they would be punished and don't really think they should be, beyond corrective training ( take 'em out back and smoke the dogshit out of them), but the people claiming white guys could get away with holding rebel flags are full of it. In the units I served in, soldiers were not even permitted to display them in their barracks rooms. And I'm talking about 19 year old enlisted guys, not fricking West Point ring knockers.

I still remember the fallout from this picture:

This is awesome. Thanks for the pic. Nothing happaned to those enlisted guys except a talking to. They posed with a political flag as a symbol of solidarity. Same thing as the West Point gals.

So there ya go.. Boom!

I've already responded to an identical comment around 5 posts after that one.

Your "boom" lost a bit of it's thunder considering that point was already made and already addressed.

Seems a bit cheap. You're going to just repeat the question as if I hadn't responded?

I got you. Were you the one asserting that white cadets wouldn't catch any institutional flack for displaying confederate flags? If so, I'd like to rebut that, many years of active duty as my reference point.

And for the record, I've never displayed, nor care to display that flag. I'm a 5th generation Californian on one side and Utah Mormon on the other. Don't give half a shite for that flag or most of the people that fly it.

This, for me, is about a double-standard, which is contrary to good order. I don't really blame these women, I blame the leadership who have allowed it to get to this point. A lax in discipline is dangerous not just for the entire military, but also for these women you imagine yourself to be looking out for.

Well, to be fair, the black power movement was not at all in the same light as the clan. They didn't lynch white folk. Just sayin.

drummed out of The Point within 24 hours and their lives and careers ruined.

You really think? You'd be wrong. How about a group of enlisted guys, not trainees, posing with a flag stingily resembling ones used by Nazis? They would be drummed out too, right? Nope. Because that happened. And the result was the same thing that happened to the West Point cadets. There was a brief investigation, the group explained themselves and there was no wrongdoing and no formal punishment. They got some sensitivity training and a stern talking to. Same thing.

So y'all need to get out of here with your double standard bull crap

Used by the nazis.
The Schutzstaffel (SS; also stylized as Runic "??" with Armanen runes; German pronunciation: ['??ts??taf?l]; literally "Protection Squadron") was a major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP; Nazi Party) in Nazi Germany.

And the closed fist salute does not have its origins with black power. So what's your point? My point is what the Marines did with the flag in the West Point cadets are pretty much the same thing. And the results were the same. So again people need to get out of here with the double standard bull crap

That flag was the semi-official flag of the Scout Snipers for over 20 years. It was stenciled on unit equipment and tatted on white and black arms for years. It was retarded to use the lightning bolt SS logo in the first place, but higher didn't have a leg to stand on when it came time to punish the JUNIOR ENLISTED that took a photo with a semi sanctioned logo. The brass allowed that logo to continue for years. They could hardly fry the Marines for something they condoned for years.

So that symbol meant something else to those that were using it. Guess what? Maybe, just maybe the closed fists meant a sign of solidarity for a group of black females that were graduating from a place that historically allowed very few females, especially black females. Maybe, just maybe, the close fists did not mean that black people were going to take over the world and defeat Whitey .

But y'all continue letting the excuses flow.

He certainty has no clue of how the military is organized or the massive difference in expectations between a West Point graduate and Joe Snuffy.
