Glen Oaks:

Lester Earl
Corey Powell
Tony Cole

McKinley had some good players. Wylie Kirby was good

Belaire was good

Redemptorist had Kendrick Spruel

I could go on and on...

Great players back then

Is that the one where Lakeo missed the free throws? God how do I remember this.

Yep.
I like to remind him on FB sometimes about it.

It was still like that when I was in school. Woodlawn wasn't too bad either, if I remember correctly.

Yeah Woodlawn won my senior year (99). I think they beat us by 65 when we played them. We were horrible.

Barksdale from Central was a sharp shooting mofo. Todd setting picks for him and Trey was almost unstoppable.

Kenny Almond coaching a few future Div1 players and desegregation(kids from Village St George to Mayfair to Fairfields/N Acadian playing together).

Nuff said.

He was good. Where did Barksdale end up playing college?

I also remember Capital had a guy that was probably 7'3 375-400 pounds. He had to wear gym shorts instead of the basketball team shorts.

I want to say maybe Colorado or Colorado State.

Edit: I was way off, looks like he went to Arkansas Little Rock.

"The Oklahoma State men's basketball team has signed junior-college transfer Roy Candley to a letter of intent, head coach Eddie Sutton announced Thursday.

Candley, a 7-2, 390-pound center from Baton Rouge, La.,"

haha, I found him. Damn dude played for Oklahoma State. Looks like they found shorts to fit him.

93. The 92 team went like 33-1. Not sure which sucked worse.

I mean WTF losing in a quarterfinal game in 4A after going undefeated playing the best teams around BR.(kids were fired up to play for him. That was year after the school walked out in protest of Almond being fired for 'not focusing on academics'. Still can't believe it WORKED.).
