I put up an antenna on my roof last week now I get it for free , like it used to be.

Even if you have cable, I do not understand people not having an antenna.

we have been without NBC and CBS for several months now.

Why is direct tv cutting so many of these channels for people? Contract disputes with the companies?

Yes. The companies want more money.

I've got ABC and Fox, no NBC.

Won't the home Saints games be blacked out on the Sunday ticket?

In the past they have shown all games on the sunday ticket - even the ones that are on your local fox/cbs channels.

Why anybody pays that much for nothing is beyond me. Streaming packages cost less and you don't need any bulky equipment or companies to come set it up.
DirecTV Now is a streaming service..

Go buy this on Amazon. $15 bucks gets all local channels. Then call Directv and tell them you want to renegotiate contract since when you signed ABC was part of agreement offered.

They renewed me for another year at intro price, and it’s just as easy to swap to ABC via input button on remote as it would be to use Direct remote

Right but if you’re in a weak signal area like I’m in you gotta get the roof top one , still worth it.

I guess the antennae route works for live sporting events, but who watches live tv these days for non-sporting events?
If I'm not watching recorded programs, I pause the live broadcast and go spend 15-20 min doing something productive, then I'm able to FF through commercials when I sit back down to watch what was on.

Get the NBC or ABC app on Fire stick. Haven't had NBC on At&t for a few months now but can still get NBC football games through the app.

Sony Vue through Amazon TV. It's half the price of Direct TV, with virtually the same channel lineup.
