No, the article said he was a 13 year University student. He had been there since Kindergarten

The news article I read said he was 13? I’m guessing that’s a typo.

No, it says he was a 13 year student, meaning he went there from K through 12.

It’s too bad the other kids didn’t throw more life rings towards him.

I really think nobody thought he was in trouble until it was too late. If you aren't trained in man over board you probably don't think it's a big deal if he's not panicking.

You’re an idiot if you think kids didn’t die doing stupid shite in the 80s and 90s.

MANY people died from doing dumb shite in the 80's and 90's. It's amazing that I wasn't one of them.

My point is "IF" there were cell phone cameras to capture the "hold my beer" moments you would likely have a lot more "hold my beer" moments.

The additional number of incidents adds to the probability to an additional number of deaths.

Has he been found yet? how are the kids doing?

perhaps the by-standing kids should not encourage a dare to an intoxicated kid about to jump.

They all are heading home today- devastated as you would expect. Alum77 is correct.

Yep. I think you’re right. His lack of panic made it seem like less of a big deal.

OMG. How is your brother? Are your parents with him? This is terrible.

Did your brother know him or mention anything about his mental health? I’ve heard others question suicide but I also heard he did it on a dare. Seems more likely he was just goofing off for attention and not trying to hurt himself but that’s only speculation. Either way it’s tragic and that boys parents will never be the same.

Yes. Please do. My daughter's classmate killed himself a few weeks ago and although she wasn't close to him it still affected her and needed to talk to someone. It will do him good to have someone to talk to who can help him with this.
